Parenting education and support program for parents of children from birth to age five, designed to meet the needs of parents who are young, single, socially or geographically isolated, or who have low income or limited formal education. Not intended for families in crisis. Offered as a series of six to eight weekly group sessions and based on the principles of adult education—starting with parents’ personal experiences and interests and actively involving them in the learning process. Contact the provincial coordinator for information about the program, locations, funding, training and resources. Note: Set of program booklets and facilitator’s manual can be borrowed from BC-ACCS.
